Dear Anna Porter Public Library Patrons,

Following the recommended guidelines of local, state, and national leaders working to help manage the COVID-19 virus in the United States, the Anna Porter Public Library will operate at “limited opening procedures” starting Wednesday, March 18.  We will also have limited operational hours at this time from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. 

 We apologize for the inconvenience and are happy to be able to serve you the best we can during this uncertain health climate.

Limited opening procedures include:

Curbside Service: Patrons may call us during operational hours (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) to request and check out items (books, movies, etc.). Our phone number is (865)-436-5588. Items requested will be checked out to the requesting patron and wrapped in newspaper and/or a paper bag to allow for patron privacy. Items can be found on a table in the foyer of APPL with the patron's library card and order number on each item. Patrons may continue to check items out by this process.  All fines will be waived at this time.  This is subject to change without notice.

Patrons who do not wish to pick up their reserved items may call and inform our staff. Those items will be removed from the checkout table in the foyer, and will no longer show as reserves in your account.

Technology Services: Patrons may call to request printing, faxing, scanning, etc. at this time as well. Documents may be sent to our email, annaporterpubliclibrary@gmail.com for printing services. Printed items will be available in a folder for patron pick up in the foyer on a separate table from items checked out. Items will still need to be paid for unless they are tax forms, resumes, and/or any other career/education-based documentation. A staff member will meet you in the foyer to collect payment.

Unemployment Filing: Patrons may access the facility ONLY FOR UNEMPLOYMENT FILINGS through www.jobs4tn.gov.  Assistance with filing will be available from the Director, Kelsey Collins. No other access is offered to patrons at this time. 

READS/Libby Services:  We encourage patrons to download books and eBooks from the R.E.A.D.S. system. Thousands of items are available to all our patron's thanks to the Tennessee State Library and Archives. All you need is your library card number and your phone number acts as the password. If you have never used this service and want to try it, visit this website, https://reads.overdrive.com/ and follow the simple directions to get started. You may also call us for further inquiries.

We are saddened by our limited service abilities at this time but hope by providing some access to resources and services, that you will know how much we value our role in helping you by any means possible.
