Hello, Gatlinburg! We are excited to continue with our successful “Our Story” series, where Appalachian stories are told and preserved. Renowned writer and editor Steve Kemp is back with us again! Last year, Kemp released his new book, An Exaltation of Parks: John D. Rockefeller Jr.’s Crusade to Save America’s Wonderlands. The book focuses on how John D. Rockefeller Jr. collaborated with renowned NPS figures Horace Albright, Stephen Mather, and Arno Cammerer to establish beautiful national parks in America. Kemp will be giving a talk about the importance of national parks and the challenges they face today at Anna Porter Public Library on Tuesday, March 10, at 6:00 p.m. The presentation will be followed by Q&A, and books will be available to purchase and get signed!
