About the event
Anna Porter Public Library goes back in time to learn the history of one of Gatlinburg’s beloved and historic local neighborhoods. Leslie “Les” Williams will be the library’s next guest for the Our Story Series program this October. Williams' presentation, “From Methodist to Mynatt: History of the Holston Assembly Grounds & Mynatt Park Neighborhood,” will take place at the library on Tuesday, October 21, at 6 p.m.
Williams is a native Tennessean, born and raised in Knoxville, TN. After graduating from Knoxville Central High School, Williams received his B.S. & M.S. in Music Education/Music Fine Arts at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. His professions include 30+ years as a school music teacher/director and 40+ years as Methodist Church music director/organist for Knoxville & Clinton churches.
