Lauren Justine Mellor-Meier
Lauren was born in Kentucky. She attended high school in the Chicagoland area. She attended college at Minnesota State Technical College where she studied nursing. She attended Troy State University where she studied Business Admin.
Lauren served in the United Stated Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. She is involved in several Veteran charities and supports veterans’ issues. She is a member of the American Legion.
She serves on the National Buddy Walk committee. A walk dedicated to bringing awareness and inclusion to Down Syndrome children and adults. She walked from Toronto Canada to Lexington Kentucky, raising over $10,000 for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Kentucky.
She has also worked as an executive assistant, in the marketing field, in the IT field, as a payroll manager, accounting manager and human resources director.
Her love for reading started when she read Little Women in the 4th grade. Her favorite subjects to read are History and War but she enjoys all genres. She enjoys a girls book club with her 4 best girlfriends from grade school. Every year during the month of her birth she reads Pride & Prejudice and picks one woman of influence to read/ learn about.
Lauren is a mother of two boys who attended Pi Beta Phi and Gatlinburg Pittman High School. She and Charlie live and work in Sevier county. They survived the 2016 Gatlinburg Wildfire, having lost their home, they created a distribution center in Gatlinburg, collected items for other survivors immediately after the fires.
Lauren is currently serving her second term as a Trustee. She was elected Secretary of the board during both terms.
