Anna Porter Public Library houses a growing special collection currently holding approximately 600 items with information on the natural and cultural history of Gatlinburg, the Great Smoky Mountains, and southern Appalachia. Included in that collection are oral history audio tapes recorded 30 to 40 years ago (with transcripts) and oral history video tapes recorded more recently.
