Find the library?

 APPL is located at the Gatlinburg Community Center. Drive north from the Parkway on Highway 321 for xxx miles, passing Food City and McDonald's. Turn left at a sign for Gatlinburg Pittman High School and continue straight up the hill. GPS:

 Get a library card?

 Library cards are issued to residents of Sevier County and Cosby. Apply in person and show proof of a local address with your name on it and proof of identity.

 Renew a book?

 Multiple public access computers are available for use without a library card.

Users under 15 must have a parent or guardian on the premises or have a signed Parental Consent Form.

What is loaned?

 Books for 2 weeks

Movies for 3 days

Audiobooks for two weeks

E-books and digital audio books for seven, fourteen, or twenty-one days. You pick at online check out.

Get tax forms?

 During tax season the library has some IRS supplied tax forms. Forms may also be printed using the IRS web page www.irs.gov on library computers. Sometimes the IRS sends paper copies of all the forms that can be copied at the library.

Get books from other libraries?

Make your request from staff at the desk.  APPL regularly borrows from all libraries in Tennessee using a computer system called Agent, which is funded by the State of Tennessee, as is a courier system which makes the deliveries.  APPL also borrows from libraries across the U.S. as is necessary.

 Buy Coffee/Tea/Hot Chocolate? 

 $1.50 per k-cup at the desk.

 Scan a document or picture?

 Ask at the desk. No charge

 Save a digital document?

 Flash drives can be purchased for $15 at the desk.

Borrow a book without a library card if I am visiting in Gatlinburg?

 Books only are loaned to out of county visitors. The library will hold cash or a check for the cost of the book(s) returnable when the book(s) is returned. Limit 2 books.

 Pay for a lost or damaged materials charge?

 Pay the cost of the item.

Replace a lost library card?

 $1 is charged for card replacements.

Return materials when the library is closed?

 After hours books, videos, and audios can be placed in the drop box located at the entrance to the building.

Get Books APPL does not own? (Interlibrary Loan)

 Books not owned can be borrowed from other Tennessee libraries. This free computer service and the delivery system is provided by the Tennessee State Library and Archives.

Donate a book(s) in someone's name?

 The library is happy to accept donations of money to purchase books in memory of those who have died or in honor of the living. If money is donated, the library will attemp to purchase a book(s) that will be useful to library patrons for many years and one that reflects the honored or deceased person's interests, unless the collection is judged to contain an overabundance of similar materials.
